Knitting MINDS: Knit 1, Give £1

Knitting MINDS

This has been a week of Mindfulness for me, as I launch my Knitting MINDS project to raise money for local mental health charity Coastal West Sussex Mind.

(For donations go to )

Knitting MINDS is a giant knitted woollen art installation which I will be showing in Chichester’s Priory Park for Wool Week from 10th October. I am creating huge knitted textile sculptures to hang from the trees to  reflect on the importance of Mindfulness and I’m calling on YOU to get involved and add your creations to the display.

Knitting MINDS: Knit 1, Give £1 works by YOU making woollen pompoms to be part of the installation. Make 1 and donate £1 to mental health charity Coastal West Sussex Mind. Pompoms (and donations) can be left at The Eternal Maker, 41 Terminus Road, Chichester by end Sept, or posted to Crowns & Coronets at 68 Westgate, Chichester, PO19 3HH.

My project is supported by the Prebendal School in Chichester and Coastal West Sussex Mind where I have been invited to teach the therapeutic art of pompom making to groups of volunteers.

On Tuesday, I shared pompom making tips with the Coastal West Sussex Mind, Arts & Crafts group. See below some of the group hard at work at the Catholic Church Hall, Bepton Road, Midhurst, West Sussex.

And today, I was privileged to meet some very mindful people at the  mental health and dementia awareness event at the Old Court Room, The Council House, North Street, Chichester. Representatives from the Aldingbourne Trust, Alzheimer’s Society, Carers Support Service, Careline to name but a few. Some excellent pompom making from all.

Please join in! For help on the pompom making, please see below….
